Subject: Jerry's telepathy
Subject: Jerry's telepathy
Just a little background on my opinion.... Anything post-Brent is sub-par Grateful Dead. But, it is still THE Grateful Dead, so, the magic still happened from time to time. Both of these Compton Terrace shows have some of it. I feel very privileged to have been there. There are plenty reviews of these shows, both online and in the back of Deadbase. However, this is a story of Jerry's ability to get into a person's brain, and pull out a solo telepathically from that person. Rubbish!!! You say? I would've thought that too, even after it happened to me. But, then I saw a show about the band and they told a story about the girlfriend Jerry had. She was the one that was some kind of witch and she made the same claims about Jerry's ability to telepathically get into people's minds. When you're listening to the music never stopped solo, it starts off kind of strangely anyway, but, when Jerry's working on the build-up, he found my brain, and I was controlling the solo. The experience was so disconcerting that I couldn't handle it, and I shook him off. The whole jam fell apart, and you can hear it for yourself. I'm not a psycho. I am a regular person without any mental issues. It's a real thing!

Wow ! what a clear, feel-like-your-there quality about this one ! Albeit the off track listing, (I think 11 should be #1 etc.) Good Times, an a hell of a sweet ride through Minglewood to Tennesee with Jed, Tom & the Candyman :) They truly were a band beyond description ! The second set Black Peter and Weight put the cream in my coffee + Thank you for all the good times ~

Subject: A Top 90's Show
My first show, and arguably my favorite I ever saw. One of the better 90's shows out there that includes Vince at the top of his game. Great energy, consistant quality of play, amazingly cool venue in the middle of nowehere, and some real gems in the setlist that grew to be personal favorites. Solid "Good Times," a killer "Sugaree" with awesome background vocals, outstanding 90's "Scarlet Begonias," a tasty version of "The Wheel" out of space, "BLACK PETER," and a perfect "Weight." One of the better shows top to bottom of this era.
